'The Aquarian Teacher'

The Level 1 program is structured as a one-year program, although it usually takes 1 to 2 years to meet all requirements.

Everyone is welcome to attend a teacher training session to learn more about the program. Visitor fees are THB 150 per hour of instruction.

Level 1 Curriculum

The KRI Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Certification Program includes the theory and practice of Kundalini Yoga as-taught-by Yogi Bhajan. This includes:

o Kundalini Yoga postures, pranayama, mantra, mudra, bandha, kriya, and meditations
o The Role(s) of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher
o Yogic Philosophy and the Roots of Kundalini Yoga
o Yogic and Western Anatomy
o Humanology and Yogic Lifestyle

Level 1 Teacher Certification Requirements

The main requirements include:

o Participation in all 36 class sessions
o Completion of presentation and teaching assignments
o Fulfillment of a personal yoga practice, such as sadhana or daily morning practice, and a 40-day practice that may include a set of a pranayama technique, a kriya and a meditation, or any one of the above.
o A passing grade of 75% on the KRI written exam
o Participation in at least two workshops equivalent to 40 hours, with Sunder Singh Khalsa - coordinator of training programs in Asia, and main trainer for all these programs; or other substitute KRI Certified Teacher Trainer
o Attendance to a number of scheduled early morning practice sessions (sadhana).
o Agreement with the KRI Code of Ethics for Kundalini Yoga Teachers.

Level 1 Timeline and Schedule

o The program includes about 110 hours of class sessions, 40 hours for workshops with Sunder Singh Khalsa, 10 hours for assignments, and at least 40 hours for personal yoga practice.
o There are 4 modules (9 sessions per module) and each module takes three months with one training day per month.
o Training days are scheduled on the 3rd Saturday of every month (unless otherwise announced), and each is a full day of lecture and practice covering 3 sessions - each session having one lecture class and one practicum class.
o New registrations are taken at the beginning of a new module (4 times per year)
o To be eligible for certification, all modules must be completed within 2 years. It is typical for student-teachers to take from one to two years to complete all requirements.

Level 1 Fees
The total program fee is THB 32,800

o includes the teaching fees for two workshops with Sunder Singh Khalsa (excludes related travel, lodging and board, and/or other workshop expenses)
o includes a non-refundable Registration fee THB 7,200
o includes a one-year KIYTA Associate Membership
   
Not included are costs of the TCP textbooks: 1) The Aquarian Teacher KRI International KY Teacher Training Level One Textbook, and 2) Yoga Manual (totalling USD 50 or prevailing exchange rate in THB)

Fee Breakdown

Registration Fee = THB 7,200 
o valid for 2 years, payable at the start of Teacher Training, non-refundable
   
Attendance Fee = THB 21,600 for 4 modules (THB 5,400 per module)
o payable at the start of each module, non-refundable once the first session has been attended
   
Materials Fee = THB 4,000 for 4 modules (THB 1,000 per module)
o payable at the start of each module, non-refundable once the first session has been attended
